here 17th how to take upon myself the duties of Deputy Postmaster under the Commission of His Lordship the Postmaster General at Home I found myself under the necessity of addressing to the Colonial Secretary the following letters.

"Stating great and unexpected difficulties in the way of my entering upon the Duties of Deputy Postmaster here. I beg to mention my present situation for the kind consideration of His Excellency,
